About the role

Our client is an established Western Australian environmental services business specialising in hazardous waste management and asbestos removal and remediation, with contracts across the state.

On their behalf, we are seeking up to 5 Friable Asbestos Supervisors for hands-on leadership opportunities for individuals who know the work, communicate clearly, and set the standard through their actions. You'll help crews deliver quality outcomes while keeping the safety of workers, clients and the surrounding environment at the centre of every decision, and remain 'hands-on' as and when required. You will oversee removal crews and day-to-day site activities for an established environmental services business.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate asbestos removal crews, allocating tasks according to project requirements and worker competency
- Oversee non-friable and friable asbestos removal within the business's authorised scope of work
- Plan daily site activities, equipment and resources to keep projects organised and progressing safely
- Check that work areas are appropriately isolated, with signage, barriers and containment arrangements in place
- Monitor compliance with asbestos removal control plans, safe work procedures and site requirements
- Check the correct use of personal protective equipment, respiratory protection and specialist removal equipment
- Oversee waste packaging, labelling, storage and disposal arrangements, along with equipment and personnel decontamination
- Lead toolbox meetings and provide clear guidance and practical support to team members
- Identify hazards, respond to changing site conditions and stop work when safety controls are compromised




- Coordinate with project contacts and relevant specialists on site progress, air monitoring and clearance arrangements

About you

- Demonstrated asbestos removal experience, including work with non-friable and friable materials
- Experience supervising removal crews or leading teams in hazardous work environments
- A recognised Class A (or equivalent) Asbestos Removal licence/qualification
- Relevant asbestos removal qualifications for non-friable and friable work
- Practical knowledge of containment, decontamination, respiratory protection and asbestos waste handling
- A consistent commitment to safe work practices, with the confidence to address unsafe behaviour
- Robust communication and organisational skills, with the ability to give clear instructions and manage daily priorities
- A reliable, hands-on approach and the patience to support workers developing their skills
- Capable of working autonomously and supervising a team
- Current unrestricted driver's licence, Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card) and valid Australian working rights

Other information Regional travel may be required, dependent on the contracts awarded, however there are roles available in Perth CBD and surrounds.
