HVAC BIM Coordinator | Brisbane Based | Sydney Digital Infrastructure Projects | $130k–$140k + Super

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HVACBIM Coordinator to join a leading mechanical services contractor delivering major commercial and digital infrastructure projects across Australia.

Based in Brisbane offices of a national Tier I Mechanical contractor, you will work on major Sydney-based projects, providing the opportunity to remain Brisbane-based while being involved in some of the most technically demanding construction projects in the market.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced BIM professional who can take ownership of BIM coordination across major projects and work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, contractors and drafting teams.

The Role

As Lead BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on constructability, clash detection, model quality and coordination with construction teams.

You will play a key role in identifying and resolving design and coordination issues before they impact construction.

Key Responsibilities

- Review drawings and 3D models from consultants and contractors
- Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs using Navisworks Manage
- Audit and review models using Autodesk Revit
- Lead weekly BIM coordination meetings with project stakeholders
- Undertake early design reviews and constructability analysis
- Manage and update BIM project documentation
- Undertake 3D model quantity extraction and verification
- Assist with 4D scheduling and simulation using Navisworks
- Mentor and develop junior BIM Modellers, trainees and apprentices




- Develop scopes of work for external drafting subcontractors
- Manage and coordinate external drafting subcontractors
- Maintain close communication with Project Managers and Construction Managers
- Produce conceptual fabrication drawings for tender and pricing proposals
- Ensure BIM coordination supports project programme, budget and construction requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 5+ years' experience in BIM coordination, modelling or drafting
- A relevant drafting qualification/certificate
- Robust experience with Autodesk Revit
- Strong experience with Navisworks Manage, particularly clash detection and coordination
- Experience working within a construction environment
- Strong understanding of 3D modelling and BIM coordination
- The ability to identify design and constructability issues before they reach site
- Excellent communication skills and confidence coordinating with project and construction teams
- Experience managing or mentoring junior BIM professionals
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple project requirements

Experience across mechanical, HVAC or building services projects will be highly regarded.
