About the role

Tas Fencing Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations across a range of fencing, land management and civil-related projects. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, has strong attention to detail and can confidently communicate with clients, suppliers and our internal operations team.

Key responsibilities

- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work and project requirements
- Prepare accurate project estimates and quotations
- Calculate labour, materials, plant, equipment and subcontractor costs
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Liaise with clients, builders, contractors and suppliers
- Identify project requirements, risks and potential variations
- Conduct site inspections and measurements where required
- Maintain accurate estimating and project records
- Assist with tender submissions and commercial proposals




- Work closely with management and operations to ensure estimates are practical and achievable
- Follow up quotations and maintain solid client relationships
- Ensure estimates are completed within required timeframes

About you

- Previous estimating experience, preferably within fencing, construction, civil, landscaping, earthmoving or related industries
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project costs
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to read plans, drawings and project specifications
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong computer skills and confidence using estimating and office software
- A current driver's licence
- Construction White Card or ability to obtain
- Working with Vulnerable people card or ability to obtain

Industry experience is highly regarded, but we are also willing to consider applicants with transferable estimating or project experience.
