Laundry Project is a Melbourne-based commercial laundry and garment care business operating from our facility in South Melbourne.

We work with clients across fashion, retail, hospitality, health and corporate industries, providing professional laundry and premium garment care services.

All work is processed in-house, with a strong focus on quality, presentation and reliable turnaround.

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Garment Care & Laundry Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

The role will be 2–3 days per week, and applicants must have availability across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This is a hands-on role working across the day-to-day processing of laundry and garments, from washing and drying through to folding, pressing, quality checking, packing and preparing client orders for dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

- Sort and prepare laundry and garments for processing
- Load and unload commercial washing and drying machines
- Follow garment care labels and washing instructions
- Fold and present laundry to a high standard
- Iron, steam and press garments
- Assist with delicate and specialist garment care
- Inspect finished items for quality and presentation
- Pack, label and prepare client orders for dispatch
- Keep individual client orders correctly separated throughout production
- Maintain a clean and organised production area




- Work efficiently with the team to meet daily production deadlines
- Follow garment handling, machinery and workplace safety procedures

About You We’re looking for someone who:
- Is available to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Is reliable and punctual
- Has strong attention to detail
- Enjoys hands-on work and working as part of a team
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Is careful when handling delicate and premium garments
- Can follow instructions and established processes
- Is comfortable being on their feet and completing physical tasks throughout the shift
- Can work independently once trained

Previous experience in laundry, dry cleaning, garment care, fashion production, housekeeping or a similar setting is an advantage, but training can be provided for the right person.

Hours: Daytime shifts
