Position Overview

Role General Ledger Accountant will be for responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. This role ensures that all transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Core Responsibilities

Management Reporting & Month-End

- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform month-end accounting activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyse monthly financial results against budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Prepare detailed variance analysis and provide commentary on key movements.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform bank reconciliation
- Support Group reporting

Financial Controls & Process Improvement

- Maintain solid financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and systems.
- Assist with implementation and improvement of financial reporting tools and systems.
- Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for audit and management review.

Other Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Support internal and external audit requirements as required.
- Assist with statutory reporting and other compliance activities.




- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management.
- Participate in finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by the Finance Manager/CFO.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles (GAAP/AASB)
- General ledger accounting and reconciliation expertise
- Financial reporting and analysis
- ERP systems (e.g., Prontp)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations)

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 3–5 years of general accounting or GL experience (typical range)
- CPA / ACCA / CMA (preferred, depending on organization)

- Accuracy of journal entries and reconciliations
- Timeliness of month-end close
- Number of audit findings or adjustments
- Compliance with accounting standards
- Quality and clarity of financial reports
- Delivery of process improvement initiatives
