Lead the next stage of our business

We are an Australian business in the new energy sector, building the commercial relationships and operating capability needed to bring our business plans to market.

We are seeking a General Manager to lead this next stage of development. Working closely with the Directors, you will turn business priorities into practical plans, make considered commercial decisions and build the foundations for sustainable growth.

This role requires an experienced senior management professional who is comfortable operating in a developing organisation, where priorities can change and success requires both sound judgement and strong execution.

About the role

Reporting to the Directors, you will take responsibility for business performance across commercial development, operations, financial planning and people management. You will establish transparent priorities, allocate resources and ensure that commitments to customers and business partners are supported by the company’s delivery capability.

Your responsibilities will include

- Manage the day to day operation of the business.
- Develop a practical business plan with clear milestones, budgets and measures of performance, and lead its implementation.
- Assess potential customers, partnerships and business opportunities, considering commercial returns, funding requirements and delivery risks before recommending commitments.
- Lead negotiations with key customers, suppliers and business partners, with appropriate support from legal, financial and technical advisers.
- Oversee operating budgets and cash-flow forecasts, monitor expenditure against agreed plans and manage commitments within approved authority.
- Establish reliable processes for commercial approvals, supplier engagement, project oversight and management reporting.
- Build the team as business needs develop, define responsibilities and hold team members accountable for agreed outcomes.




- Coordinate internal resources and external specialists so that commercial activities, technical work and operational requirements progress together.
- Provide the Directors with clear reporting on business progress, financial performance, emerging risks and decisions requiring their approval.
- Ensure growth plans reflect the company’s contractual obligations, applicable requirements and capacity to deliver.

What you will bring We are looking for a General Manager who can demonstrate:

- At least three or more years of relevant Senior management experience in the new energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial technology or a related project-based sector.
- Extensive experience in across multiple business functions, including budgets, operations and people.
- A record of developing a business, establishing a new operation or leading an organisation through a significant growth phase.
- Strong financial judgement, including the ability to assess forecasts, manage cash requirements and evaluate commercial proposals.
- Experience negotiating business agreements and building productive relationships with customers, suppliers and professional advisers.
- The ability to recruit, develop and lead a team, while remaining directly involved in important business decisions.
- Good communication skills and confidence presenting recommendations to Directors and other senior stakeholders.

Pay: $180,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
