Role Description

This is a full-time, in office local Geotechnical Driller role based in Coolum Beach, QLD. The Geotechnical Driller will operate and maintain drilling rigs and heavy equipment to perform geotechnical and water bore drilling in accordance with project specifications.

Daily tasks include setting up drilling sites, conducting borehole drilling, sampling and logging soil and rock, and assisting with site inspections as required. The role involves following safety procedures, performing routine equipment checks, and completing accurate documentation of drilling activities. The Geotechnical Driller will work closely with supervisors, engineers,



and site personnel to meet project timelines and quality standards, often in outdoor and remote environments.

This is not FIFO the majority of work is local though some working away will be required.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and drilling rigs, with hands-on experience in geotechnical or water bore drilling.
- Experience with directional drilling techniques and an understanding of varied ground conditions and site constraints.
- Ability to perform basic inspection and maintenance of drilling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Experience operating Hanjin & hydrapower Scouts
- Background in drilling within construction, civil, or oil & gas environments is an advantage.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, including adherence to site protocols and PPE requirements.
- Competent in Auger, Rotary Mud, Rotary Air, Diamond Coring ( NMLC, HQ3, PQ3)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with good physical fitness and manual handling capability.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a field-based team.
