About the role The Get Active Program Officer role is a part-time position, responsible for the day-to-day coordination of GAP, a long-standing statewide initiative aimed at promoting physical activity and improving health and wellbeing for Tasmanians. Running for over 20 years, GAP has supported thousands of participants through its 10-week program, combining fun and social connection, weekly physical activity and engaging health and wellbeing information. GAP targets community members with low activity levels, providing enjoyment, learning, and connection in small, supportive group settings.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and deliver an annual GAP Action Plan
- Administer GAP including maintaining the GAP facilitator database, facilitator resources and manual, and coordinating and evaluating programs
- Develop and maintain GAP promotional collateral including website updates, brochures, posters and social media, in accordance with WSRT Communication Strategy and Style Guide
- Complete six-monthly progress/acquittal reports for the Tasmanian Department of Health and attend six-monthly meetings, together with WSRT Chair or delegated Board member
- Coordinate and meet with advisory/reference groups established in relation to GAP
- Maintain relationships with community-based organisations, local government, and other potential GAP partners, to drive statewide GAPs
- Conduct outreach to recruit GAP facilitators, providing support, information and ongoing liaison to ensure facilitators are well equipped to deliver successful GAPs, including post-GAP reporting
- Coordinate and deliver GAP facilitator training, statewide – approximately 3 to 4 sessions per annum
- Promote, coordinate and administer the GAP Small Grants Program, under guidance of committee/board, in accordance with Small Grant Approval Criteria and within allocated Budget
- Attend expos,



events or industry forums to promote and/or represent GAP and WSRT

About you

- Understanding of, and/or experience in, sport, health or active recreation industry
- Ability to work independently, and report to a Board
- Proficient IT skills including MS Office suite of programs, basic website editing and digital media
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end program or project coordination
- Experience in preparing and writing reports, including feedback evaluation, including funding acquittal
- Community or stakeholder engagement experience
- Collaboration, teamwork and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and high level of integrity
- Administration skills, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate with initiative, with a professional and proactive approach to delivering quality customer outcomes

Mandatory requirements

- Working with Vulnerable People registration
- Current Driver's Licence
- Police Check

Desirable

- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Event coordination experience
- Experience working to a Board
- Experience with grant applications
