About the Role

AFF is seeking a Ginner to join our team at Midkin Gin, in a permanent full-time position.

Working within a high-production cotton ginning facility, the Ginner plays an important role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the gin throughout both the production and maintenance seasons.

During the ginning season, you will operate and monitor gin equipment, supervise seasonal employees and assist in maintaining production and cotton quality standards. Outside of the production season, you will be involved in preventative maintenance, repairs and preparation of plant and equipment for the next season. This aligns with the position’s focus on safe equipment operation, production monitoring, troubleshooting and machinery maintenance.

Key responsibilities will include:

Operating and monitoring cotton ginning equipment to support safe and efficient production

Supervising and supporting seasonal employees within a structured shift environment

Monitoring production output and cotton quality and responding to operational issues

Conducting preventative maintenance,



repairs and troubleshooting on gin equipment

Completing shift reports, downtime records and quality documentation

Participating in off-season maintenance and preparation of plant and equipment

Supporting secure systems of work and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and WHS compliance

Skills and Experiences:

About You

Previous cotton ginning experience would be highly regarded; however, it is not essential. We encourage applications from candidates with experience in mechanical trades, maintenance, farming, machinery operation, industrial production or similar hands-on environments.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Strong safety awareness and a commitment to safe work practices

Experience operating machinery or equipment in an agricultural, industrial or processing environment

Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of machinery maintenance

Strong leadership or supervisory skills, particularly within a production or maintenance environment The ability to identify equipment issues and undertake basic troubleshooting

Good communication and teamwork skills

Basic computer literacy and the ability to complete operational reports and records A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work within a seasonal production environment
