ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Reporting & Compliance Lead, the Technical Accountant – Reporting & Compliance will support the delivery of high-quality financial and sustainability reporting, technical accounting, corporate tax and governance activities across the business.

This role contributes to the preparation of statutory financial statements, technical accounting assessments, corporate tax reporting, sustainability disclosures and internal control frameworks, while supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting systems.

Ideally suited to a candidate from a Big 4 audit or accounting advisory background looking to transition into industry, this permanent role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, technical accounting and governance within a dynamic and growing organisation.





Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting

Prepare statutory financial statements, supporting disclosures and audit-ready working papers

Support group consolidation and reporting processes

Prepare technical accounting papers and accounting position memoranda

Research and assess accounting implications of complex and non-routine transactions, including acquisitions, impairment, provisions, leases, financial instruments and fair value measurements

Assist with current and deferred tax accounting, tax reporting disclosures and corporate tax governance activities

Support preparation of sustainability and climate-related disclosures, including reporting methodologies, controls and assurance documentation

Assist in the design, documentation and monitoring of finance policies, procedures and internal control frameworks

Support SAP reporting, finance system enhancement, automation and continuous improvement initiatives

ABOUT YOU

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical accounting, financial reporting and analytical capability. You enjoy researching complex accounting matters, documenting well-supported positions and contributing to robust reporting and governance outcomes.

You communicate clearly,



produce high-quality working papers and are motivated by the opportunity to build broad industry experience across financial reporting, technical accounting, corporate tax, sustainability reporting and internal controls.

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

External audit, accounting advisory or financial reporting experience

Experience preparing or auditing statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures

Strong working knowledge of AASB / IFRS and technical accounting matters

Experience researching accounting standards and documenting technical accounting positions

Exposure to tax reporting, sustainability reporting, regulatory reporting and external audit processes

Ability to support internal controls, governance frameworks and process improvement initiatives

You will require the following qualifications, skills, and competencies:

CA qualified or near completion

4–5 years’ experience in external audit, accounting advisory or financial reporting

Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical research skills

Advanced Excel skills

Excellent written communication and documentation skills

Big 4 audit or accounting advisory background highly regarded

Mining, resources or heavy industry experience highly regarded

Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems highly regarded
