Dubbo Grain Packing Pty Ltd is seeking Grain Handlers / Operators to join our team on a casual basis at our facility in Trangie, NSW. This role is central to our grain handling and storage operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, handling, processing and storage of grain products. As a Grain Handler / Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery and equipment essential to our daily operations, whilst maintaining safety standards and contributing to the smooth functioning of our facility.
Key responsibilities
- Operating grain handling equipment, including conveyors, elevators and loading/unloading machinery
- Monitoring grain quality and moisture levels during receipt and storage processes
- Performing routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality
- Safely transferring and storing grain in designated storage facilities
- Maintaining accurate records of grain received, processed and stored
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Assisting with cleaning and maintaining work areas to ensure operational efficiency
- Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and deadlines
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in grain handling, farm labour or a similar agricultural environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery and grain handling equipment safely
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour tasks in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
- Excellent safety consciousness and adherence to workplace health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a quick-paced environment
- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varying hours as required
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in machinery operation or occupational health and safety are desirable
