An established data centre owner/operator is seeking an Data Centre Critical Facilities Manager to take ownership of the critical environment at a major Sydney data centre.

This is an owner-side role responsible for overseeing the outsourced facilities management provider and ensuring the site's mission-critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable and available.

The Role

- Oversee day-to-day critical environment operations across electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Manage and hold the outsourced FM provider accountable for operational performance, maintenance and service delivery.
- Provide technical oversight across HV/LV, UPS, generators, cooling, BMS/EPMS and other critical systems.
- Maintain oversight of plant condition, redundancy, operational risks and maintenance requirements.
- Act as a senior escalation point for incidents, equipment failures and abnormal operating conditions.
- Govern planned maintenance, high-risk works, change control and return-to-service activities.
- Review and challenge operational procedures, risk assessments and maintenance plans.
- Monitor contractor performance, KPIs,



incidents and compliance, driving improvements where required.
- Work closely with project and engineering teams where upgrades and expansion interface with live operations.
- Provide operational reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.

About You

You will be an experienced data centre, critical infrastructure or mission-critical operations professiona l with:

- Strong electrical and mechanical critical environment knowledge.
- Experience operating or overseeing live data centre infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing or governing an outsourced FM provider.
- Robust incident management, operational risk and maintenance experience.
- Experience with SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, PTW, LOTO and change management.
- The technical credibility to challenge contractors and drive operational standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

An electrical or mechanical trade qualification or engineering background will be highly regarded.
