You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of crane components, machinery, equipment and other loads between the yard, construction sites and client locations. The successful applicant will be safety-focused, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where daily requirements can vary.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport crane components, machinery and equipment to and from construction sites
- Complete client direct deliveries, collections and site transfers
- Safely operate prime movers, trailers and associated transport equipment
- Ensure loads are correctly positioned, restrained and transported safely
- Complete required transport, delivery and vehicle documentation
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report defects or maintenance requirements
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and professional condition
- Comply with fatigue management requirements and Heavy Vehicle National Law obligations
- Ensure compliance with vehicle permits, load requirements,
axle weights and road restrictions
- Communicate effectively with allocations, supervisors, riggers and site personnel
About You
- Current HC or MC Driver Licence
- Demonstrated heavy vehicle driving experience
- Strong understanding of load restraint and safe transport practices
- Good knowledge of heavy vehicle and fatigue management requirements
- Ability to confidently and safely manoeuvre heavy vehicles on construction sites
- Ability to work autonomously and take a proactive approach to daily tasks
- Strong communication skills and a skilled attitude
- Flexibility with working hours and changing operational requirements
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused approach to work
- Ability to work effectively within a team
