Most services teams are trying to work out what AI means for delivery. We're already putting it into production.
At SQiBLE, support, services agreements and implementation projects aren't separate departments. They're one delivery engine. The opportunity is to make that engine faster, more profitable and less dependent on custom work than it is today.
One role, reporting to the COO, on the leadership team, owning customer delivery across support, professional services and key client relationships.
Before you read further, be clear on one thing: this is not a customer success role dressed up with a bigger title.
You'll own utilisation, margin, delivery performance, forecasting and the hard conversations that come with them. If you're looking for a leadership role that sits above the detail, this probably isn't it.
Still reading? Keep going.
What you'll own
- Delivery. Support, services agreements and implementation projects. Delivered on time, to scope and profitably.
- The numbers. Utilisation, margin, forecast accuracy, capacity planning and delivery performance.
- Client relationships. The difficult escalations, strategic accounts and renewal conversations.
- The function. Capability, performance, succession planning and reducing key-person dependencies.
- AI and automation. Not as a future initiative. As part of how the team works every day.
- Delivery economics. Change control, billing discipline, rework and operational efficiency.
- The bridge between customers, product and R&D.; Recurring problems become product improvements, not recurring fixes.
The bar Seven or more years leading professional services, client services or service delivery teams in software, ERP, SaaS or consulting environments.
You've owned utilisation and margin,
not just team engagement scores.
You've managed competing client priorities, forecast capacity across multiple engagements and been accountable when the numbers missed.
AI already plays a role in how you work and how your teams deliver. We're not looking for theory. We're looking for practical application.
The honest version
This is a small business inside a very large one.
You won't inherit layers of management, a PMO or a large operations function.
You will inherit real customers, a capable team, delivery challenges worth solving and enough freedom to solve them properly.
The upside is influence.
The downside is accountability.
We're interested in people who see those as the same thing.
Don't bother if...
✘ You prefer reporting on delivery rather than improving it.
✘ Utilisation and margin belong to someone else's spreadsheet.
✘ Client escalations are something you'd rather avoid.
✘ You need a large team before you can make an impact.
✘ AI is something you've read about rather than implemented.
✘ Leadership means staying above the operational detail.
We should talk if you can say yes to at least 4 of these 6
✔ You've improved utilisation, profitability or delivery performance in a services business.
✔ You've led support, consulting or project teams under one operating model.
✔ You've introduced a new way of working that materially improved delivery outcomes.
✔ You've been accountable for a forecast and been measured on its accuracy.
✔ You've sat across from a frustrated client and kept the relationship.
✔ You've built capability in a team rather than simply managed it.
About Us
SQiBLE builds software that connects the entire journey from quote to delivery, specialising in manufacturing, distribution, print and automotive businesses. Small, and proud of it. No layers, no politics, no waiting three weeks for a decision. You solve a problem, you watch the outcome land, you improve it and move on to the next one.
We're two years into shifting from a services-led business to a product-led one. That means more automation, more configuration, more AI-assisted delivery and less repeat work. The opportunity is to help shape what that looks like.
Behind our small team sits Jonas Software and Constellation Software, Inc. (TSX: CSU.TO): 20,000+ people and $3.5 billion USD in revenue globally. Startup pace, enterprise backing. That combination is rare, and it's exactly why people stay.
