Head of Architecture

Sydney | Permanent | Enterprise Technology Transformation An opportunity has opened for an experienced Head of Architecture to join a large, complex Australian organisation undergoing significant technology and operating model transformation.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping the organisation’s enterprise architecture direction, governance and capability , while helping transition technology towards a more modern, platform-led model.

The opportunity

- Lead and evolve the enterprise architecture function
- Define enterprise architecture strategy, target states and technology roadmaps
- Build capability across Enterprise, Domain, Platform and Solution Architecture
- Help embed a new platform-led technology operating model
- Establish strong architecture governance, standards and decision frameworks
- Influence major technology investment and transformation decisions
- Drive simplification and modernisation across a complex technology landscape
- Provide architectural direction across applications, integration, cloud, data, security and emerging technology
- Partner closely with senior technology, product, engineering, data and business leaders




- Lead and develop a high-performing architecture capability

About you We’re looking for an architecture leader who combines enterprise-level thinking with pragmatic delivery experience .

You’ll ideally bring

- Significant Enterprise Architecture experience within a large, complex organisation
- Experience leading architecture teams and capability
- Strong architecture governance and assurance experience
- Broad technology knowledge rather than a single-domain specialism
- Experience with major transformation, modernisation and complex legacy environments
- Exposure to platform or product-based technology operating models
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to challenge, influence and provide a transparent architectural point of view
- Retail, consumer, financial services, energy, telco or another large enterprise background would be highly regarded
