Heavy Duty Mechanic

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.

Our workshop specialises in the servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles, including Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Mack and DAF. We also work on a range of light commercial vehicles and vans.

We are ideally looking for an experienced mechanic who can work independently and confidently diagnose and repair heavy vehicles. However, we are also happy to consider candidates with a solid mechanical foundation who are willing to learn and develop their skills, as training and support can be provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Perform inspections, fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Work on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and other vehicle systems
- Service and repair Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Mack, DAF and other heavy vehicles
- Carry out repairs and servicing on light commercial vehicles and vans when required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Complete work to a high standard and within reasonable timeframes

About You We are looking for someone who is:




- Experienced as a Heavy Vehicle / Heavy Duty Mechanic — preferred
- Able to diagnose and repair heavy vehicles independently
- Mechanically minded with good problem-solving skills
- Reliable, responsible and takes pride in their work
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn new systems, technology and repair methods

Candidates with less experience but a good mechanical foundation and a strong willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. Training can be provided to the right person.
