Finance Officer | Cobram Region

Temporary Opportunity with a View to Permanent Full-Time Employment

Chandler Macleod is currently seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our client's team in the Cobram region. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to work in a dynamic, multi-entity environment, supporting day-to-day financial operations and contributing to ongoing business improvement initiatives.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across multiple business entities. This hands-on position encompasses accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, banking, bookkeeping, and financial administration using SAP Business One, Xero, and legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
- Supplier and customer account reconciliations
- Processing payment runs and customer receipts
- Payroll administration, reconciliations, and superannuation processing
- Bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping activities
- Managing finance inboxes and responding to supplier and customer enquiries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Supporting month-end and year-end finance activities




- Processing transactions across multiple accounting systems
- Assisting with compliance reporting, BAS, payroll tax, and statutory obligations
- Providing administrative support across finance functions as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, Business, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or payroll position
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end payroll processing
- Strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Solid bookkeeping and reconciliation skills
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP and Xero
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
