Role Overview The Secondary Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Science lessons across the Secondary School. The successful candidate will foster curiosity and scientific thinking, support a diverse range of learners and contribute positively to the academic and pastoral life of the College.

The ability to teach across multiple areas of Science is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and effective Science lessons aligned with the NSW curriculum.
- Develop learning experiences that foster scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving and curiosity.
- Assess, monitor and evaluate student learning and progress, using data to inform teaching practice.
- Provide appropriate differentiation and support to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
- Develop positive relationships with students and promote their academic, social and emotional wellbeing.




- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning, assessment and whole-school initiatives.
- Integrate appropriate technologies, practical investigations and contemporary teaching practices into learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, assessment and progress.
- Participate in professional learning and contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning practices.
- Uphold the values and ethos of Minarah College and undertake other duties as directed.

Key Selection Criteria & Attributes

- Relevant teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the NSW Science curriculum and effective assessment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and student-centred lessons.
- Ability to effectively assess, monitor and respond to student learning and progress.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning community.
- Commitment to the wellbeing, development and achievement of all students.




- Ability to teach across multiple areas of Science (desirable).
- Experience working in an independent or faith-based school setting (desirable).
- A commitment to the values and ethos of Islamic education.
- Enthusiasm, initiative and a genuine passion for Science education.
- Professionalism, integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Employment Conditions Teachers at Minarah College are employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.
