Hotel Manager - Full Time

We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Assistant Manager to join our busy team at the Breakfree Port Pirie, managed by 1834 Hotels. Our facilities include brand new villas, motel rooms, the popular Angus and Co. Bar and Grill, outdoor swimming pool, function room and off-street parking.

Our front office team provide a consistent and high-quality standard of guest services and provide efficient and profitable operation of hotel accommodation by promoting and selling a variety of packages to cater for a vast range of clientele.

The key responsibilities will include:

- Management of overall operations whilst on shift;
- Work within set budgets in relation to wage costs and ensure rosters are compiled and adjusted appropriate to demand;
- Support the General Manager with leadership of departmental team members and functionality within rooms division, food and beverage and management of operations in the absence of the General Manager as required;
- Ensure guest feedback is recorded accurately and action any service recovery process in a prompt and efficient manner;
- Assist the team in ensuring hotel specific standard operating procedures are adhered to;
- Ensure all accounting practices and processes are achieved per hotel specific standard operating procedures;
- Work closely with all departments to deliver brand standard accommodation rooms, food and beverage products and a high standard of services; and
- Actively contribute towards reaching agreed hotel performance targets and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have:
- A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work;
- Comprehensive financial understanding of managing a profitable operation and managing costs particularly controlling wages, within a hotel environment;
- Prior experience in leading, developing and mentoring a team;
- Initiative, commitment and passion for your job;




- The ability to communicate effectively with the team at large and department managers;
- An ability to thrive under pressure and direct your team in a high paced environment;
- Proven ability to be a proactive individual with strong organisational and time management skills;
- A great sense of style and immaculate presentation and grooming;
- A current food safety supervisor certification;
- Demonstrated understanding of the Liquor Act and compliance;
- Demonstrated understanding of Hospitality Industry (General) Award compliance; and
- A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety.
