Prancer Australia and Mixers Australia are growing Australian businesses operating across the heavy vehicle, electric truck, transport and manufacturing sectors.

We are looking for an experienced and practical HR & WHSE Manager to join our team on a part-time basis.

Based at our Smeaton Grange office, this role will take ownership of the HR, workplace health, safety and environmental requirements across both Prancer Australia and Mixers Australia.

About the Role

Working closely with management, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining effective HR and WHSE systems, policies and processes across both businesses.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who can balance people management, compliance and operational requirements while working closely with employees and management.

Key Responsibilities

HR & People

- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain employee records, contracts and HR documentation
- Coordinate recruitment and new starter processes
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Support performance management and employee development
- Advise management on employee relations matters
- Coordinate employee inductions and training
- Maintain training and competency records
- Manage leave, attendance and general HR administration
- Support workforce planning across both businesses

Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE)

- Take ownership of WHSE systems across Prancer and Mixers Australia
- Develop, implement and maintain WHSE policies and procedures




- Conduct workplace and workshop safety inspections
- Maintain risk assessments, SWMS and WHSE documentation
- Coordinate incident, injury and near-miss reporting
- Lead or assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain WHSE registers and compliance records
- Coordinate toolbox talks and safety communications
- Manage PPE and safety equipment requirements
- Coordinate WHSE training and inductions
- Assist with workers compensation and return-to-work processes
- Identify WHSE risks and implement practical corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and industry requirements
- Promote a robust safety and environmental culture across both businesses

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in HR and WHSE management
- Practical, organised and highly detail-oriented
- Confident dealing with employees, supervisors and management
- Comfortable working in workshop, manufacturing and industrial environments
- Able to work independently and take ownership
- Robust with compliance, documentation and systems
- Approachable and confident managing workplace issues
- Solutions-focused with a practical approach to HR and safety




- Comfortable balancing HR responsibilities with operational WHSE requirements
- Experience in heavy vehicle, automotive, manufacturing, transport, construction or other industrial environments will be highly regarded.

Experience & Qualifications

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience in an HR and WHSE management role
- Relevant HR and/or WHS qualifications
- Working knowledge of Australian employment, WHS and environmental requirements
- Experience developing and implementing HR and WHSE systems
- Experience with risk assessments and incident management
- Experience managing employee relations and performance processes
- Experience developing policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
- Current driver’s licence
