HSEQ Lead | Clean Chemicals Technology/ High-Voltage

The role

This is a genuine build role. You'll own health, safety, environment and quality across manufacturing, workshop, laboratory and R&D; environments. You'll report directly to the COO. Your job is to put solid fundamentals in place without slowing the pace of innovation.

What you'll do

- Lead day to day WHS on the floor, with a practical focus on chemical, electrical and mechanical risk
- Build and improve HSEQ systems, including SWMS, risk registers, SDS records, training and competency frameworks, and corrective action tracking
- Embed daily safety routines such as shift start checks, toolbox talks, inspections and Gemba walks
- Lead incident investigations with strong root cause analysis and lasting corrective actions
- Set up quality processes for scale up, including document control, NCR/CAPA, supplier quality and external manufacturing partners




- Guide the business toward the right ISO certifications, then lead it through them
- Build HSEQ tools that scale to field trials, customer sites and deployments in Australia and overseas

What you'll bring

- Proven WHS experience in a technical, industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, engineering or R&D; setting. You'll be ready to deliver from day one.
- Confident management of chemical, electrical and mechanical risks, with controls people actually use
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, NSW requirements, codes of practice and Australian Standards
- Hands on experience with SWMS, risk assessments, audits, investigations and contractor management
- Experience building systems from scratch in a startup, scale up or small company
- The confidence to coach, challenge and influence engineers, scientists, technicians and contractors

Highly regarded

- Chemical plant or process manufacturing experience
- ISO 9001 QMS setup, or leading an organisation through certification
- High voltage safety experience
- An engineering degree (chemical, environmental or similar) or a relevant WHS qualification
