Fresh Fish Co is seeking a Sales Assistant/Fish Filleter to join our team in Newstead, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to our daily operations in the retail and seafood sector. You will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service whilst also developing valuable skills in fish preparation and filleting. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a dynamic retail environment with hands-on involvement in product preparation.

Key responsibilities

- Providing exceptional customer service and assistance to clients selecting fresh seafood products
- Accurately filleting, trimming and preparing fish to the highest quality standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shop and preparation areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Operating the till and processing customer transactions accurately
- Restocking shelves and displays with fresh products throughout the day
- Assisting with stock management and inventory control
- Following all food handling and safety procedures to maintain product quality
- Supporting team members to ensure smooth daily operations

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
- Willingness to learn new skills,



particularly in fish filleting and seafood preparation

- Reliability and punctuality in a casual working environment
- Basic mathematical skills for till operation and stock management
- Previous retail or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
