IAM Engineer – Okta & OAG

- Contract: Initial 6-month contract with potential extension

We are seeking an experienced IAM Engineer to provide engineering and operational support across Okta and Okta Access Gateway environments. This hands-on position will support application onboarding, testing, automation, platform maintenance and operational readiness within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support Okta tenant environments
- Configure and maintain SSO, MFA, Adaptive Authentication, Universal Directory and Lifecycle Management
- Integrate cloud and enterprise applications using SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and WS-Federation
- Create and manage authentication, MFA and authorisation policies
- Troubleshoot provisioning, federation and authentication issues
- Complete testing, validation and deployment-readiness activities for production releases
- Support and maintain Okta Access Gateway appliances
- Integrate legacy on-premises applications with Okta SSO
- Configure header-based, Kerberos/IWA, form-based and reverse proxy authentication
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates for secure application access
- Support OAG upgrades, patching, monitoring and troubleshooting
- Assist applications migrating to modern authentication methods
- Resolve ServiceNow incidents and service requests




- Assist with access reviews and audit activities
- Develop automation using REST APIs and Okta Workflows
- Create runbooks, operational procedures and technical documentation
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure and security teams
- Support knowledge transfer, platform optimisation and continuous improvement

Skills and Experience

- Strong Okta administration and engineering experience
- Hands-on experience supporting Okta Access Gateway
- Practical knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP, SCIM and Kerberos
- Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, load balancers, reverse proxies and SSL/TLS certificates
- Experience using REST APIs for scripting and automation
- Okta Workflows experience is highly regarded

Highly Regarded

- Okta Certified Qualified, Administrator or Consultant certification
- Experience with CyberArk, SailPoint or other IAM technologies
- Previous experience working within enterprise IAM environments
