About the Role

TAC CON OPERATIONS PTY LTD is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced ICT Support Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.

The ICT Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support across the company's ICT environment, including computer hardware, software, networks, peripheral devices and associated systems. The successful candidate will diagnose and resolve technical issues, assist users with ICT-related problems, maintain ICT equipment and systems, and help ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the company's technology infrastructure.

This position requires strong technical troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills and the ability to provide timely and effective support to users.

Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Providing technical support to employees and users experiencing computer hardware, software, network and system-related problems.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, network and connectivity issues.
- Determining appropriate hardware and software requirements and recommending suitable technical solutions.
- Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and upgrading desktop computers, laptops, operating systems, software applications and peripheral equipment.
- Installing and configuring approved software and ensuring applications are appropriately maintained and updated.
- Setting up and maintaining user accounts, email accounts, access permissions and other ICT-related user services.
- Assisting users with software, hardware and system enquiries and providing clear technical guidance.
- Monitoring ICT systems and equipment to identify faults, performance issues and potential technical problems.
- Troubleshooting local area network, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, printer and other peripheral device issues.
- Repairing, replacing or arranging replacement of faulty computer components and peripheral equipment where required.
- Supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer networks and associated ICT equipment.
- Assisting with data backup,



system recovery and basic ICT security procedures.
- Applying security updates, software patches and other system updates in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintaining appropriate antivirus, endpoint protection and other ICT security measures.
- Maintaining accurate records of ICT assets, hardware, software licences, configurations, technical issues and support activities.
- Documenting technical problems, solutions and system configurations for future reference.
- Liaising with external ICT service providers, software vendors and equipment suppliers where specialist support is required.
- Assisting with the implementation and deployment of new ICT systems, equipment and applications.
- Providing basic training and guidance to employees regarding the effective and secure use of computer systems and applications.
- Ensuring ICT equipment and applications are used efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
- Identifying recurring technical issues and recommending practical improvements to ICT systems and processes.
- Performing other ICT support and technical duties reasonably associated with the position.

Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant should possess:
- A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking or a related ICT discipline; and/or relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience in an ICT support, helpdesk, desktop support, computer technician or similar technical support position.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems.
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining computers, operating systems, software applications and peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of computer networking, internet connectivity,



Wi-Fi and common network troubleshooting procedures.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and commonly used business applications.
- Understanding of ICT security, data protection, system backup and access-control principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple technical support requests.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Employment Conditions This is a full time position, with employment conditions applying in accordance with the applicable Australian workplace laws and employment standards.

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with their qualifications, skills and experience and consistent with the requirements of the position.
