About the Role

As a Fabrication Technician, you'll be responsible for the fabrication, modification, repair and installation of metal components and structures on heavy vehicles, trailers and related equipment. Working alongside skilled technicians and workshop leaders, you'll help deliver safe, compliant and reliable outcomes for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate, repair and modify metal components and assemblies for heavy vehicles and trailers
- Perform MIG, TIG and stick welding as required
- Cut, grind, drill, form and prepare materials accurately
- Remove & install fabricated components onto vehicles and equipment
- Interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications
- Operate workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintain high standards of quality, structural integrity and workmanship
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet operational deadlines




- Support apprentices and less experienced team members when required
- Follow all TRUCK TECH operational and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification in Fabrication or Welding
- Demonstrated fabrication and welding experience in a heavy vehicle, transport, manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong MIG welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent fabrication, fitting and metalworking skills
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- TIG and stick welding experience
- Heavy vehicle or trailer fabrication experience
- Relevant welding certifications or high-risk work licences
