About your new Role:
As an Investment Risk Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the oversight of investment risk across Brighter Super’s $36+ billion portfolio. Working closely with an experienced Investment Risk team, you'll apply your analytical expertise to monitor portfolio risks, deliver meaningful insights, maintain robust risk reporting, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the Fund’s risk frameworks and models.
This is a unique opportunity to develop broad exposure across multiple investment risk disciplines, including market risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk and climate risk. You'll gain valuable experience working with a diverse range of asset classes while partnering with stakeholders across Investments,
Risk and Compliance to help deliver solid outcomes for our members.
- Monitor and analyse investment risks across the Fund's portfolio, identifying trends, exposures and emerging risks.
- Support weekly liquidity risk monitoring and quarterly APRA liquidity reporting obligations.
- Produce accurate and insightful risk reporting, dashboards and analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of investment risk models, reporting frameworks and analytical capabilities.
- Assist in the preparation of committee papers, risk commentary and governance reporting.
- Support the implementation of Brighter Super's data risk strategy and reporting uplift initiatives.
- Build exposure across a broad range of investment risk areas, including market, liquidity, counterparty and climate risk.
About You: You are a naturally curious and analytical professional who enjoys working with data, solving complex problems and turning insights into meaningful outcomes. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively with stakeholders and take ownership of your work. Most importantly, you're eager to continue developing your investment risk expertise and contribute to a high-performing team.
- Experience in investment risk, investments, analytics, consulting,
financial services or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of market risk, liquidity risk and/or counterparty risk, with a desire to broaden your expertise across other risk dimensions.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong quantitative and technical skills, including experience with data analysis, statistical techniques, simulations, portfolio analytics, and risk modelling.
- Experience interpreting risks metrics such as tracking error, active risk, factor exposures, risk attribution, and scenario analysis is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of asset classes such as equities and fixed income, with exposure to private markets viewed favourably.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and practical way.
