Role Overview

We are seeking an IT Security Officer to join our Defence and Security team based at Amberley, QLD. Working across a highly secure and complex ICT environment, you'll play a critical role in ensuring information systems remain compliant, secure, and aligned with Defence security requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and regulatory frameworks to protect critical systems supporting Australian Defence capabilities. Description

As an IT Security Officer, I will:

- Support the security accreditation and compliance of ICT systems and networks.
- Conduct security assessments, audits, and risk management activities.
- Monitor and investigate security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and policies.
- Work with technical teams to implement security controls and mitigations.




- Liaise with Defence stakeholders and internal teams to ensure ongoing security compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience supporting ICT security, cybersecurity, or information assurance functions.
- Knowledge of Defence security frameworks, ISM, PSPF, or related security standards.
- Ability to assess risk and implement appropriate security controls.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and written communication skills.
- Experience preparing and maintaining security documentation.
- Australian Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
- Ability to work onsite at our Amberley, QLD location.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current Defence Security Clearance.
- Experience working within Defence, government, or other highly regulated environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Understanding of secure network architecture and cybersecurity principles.

Amberley, QLD This role is primarily site-based due to the nature of the workplace and may involve occasional travel as required
