About POST Newspapers POST Newspapers is an independent local weekly paper that has served Perth's western suburbs for almost 50 years. We have recently launched the North Coast Post cover Perth's northern coastal suburbs.
About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented jr graphic designer & copy proofer to join our sales and production team on a regular, casual basis. You'll help make sure every edition goes to press accurate and looking its best, while building practical experience across design and newspaper production.
What you'll do
- Proof and quality-check advertisements before publication
- Design and adapt ads from client briefs
- Check artwork meets print specifications
- Review page proofs before print
- Assist with page layout as needed
- Work with the advertising and production teams to meet weekly deadlines
About you
- A qualification in graphic design or similar, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- A sharp eye for detail, interest in news and copy, and strong spelling and grammar
- An understanding of print production basics (CMYK, bleed, resolution)
- Able to stay calm and organised under weekly deadlines
- A valuable communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Newspaper, magazine or print production experience is a bonus, but not essential
