ABOUT THE SLEEP PROJECTThe Sleep Project is creating a podcast intentionally designed to help people wind down, get off their screens and ultimately go to sleep.

Our mission is to challenge the mainstream attention economy by creating content people genuinely want to engage with, while ultimately encouraging them to switch off.

We’re a small team building something new, so you’ll have the chance to get involved early and have real input into shaping our social content.

ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re looking for a Junior Social Media Executive to help bring The Sleep Project to life across social.

This is a hands-on, creative role spanning content ideation, filming, editing and posting.

You’ll report to our freelance Head of Social, based in London, while working closely with our founder and the wider Melbourne team day-to-day.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING• Coming up with short-form social concepts and formats

- Shooting simple face-to-camera content with podcast hosts
- Spotting trends and opportunities for The Sleep Project to jump on
- Turning long-form podcast episodes into engaging short-form clips
- Editing content using CapCut, Canva or similar tools
- Scheduling and publishing across The Sleep Project’s social channels





WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR• Based in Melbourne, or able to easily travel there for shoots
- Confident editing video — CapCut is our go-to, but Premiere Pro or similar experience is welcome
- Comfortable using Canva to create simple social content and assets
- Comfortable filming on an iPhone
- A creative, social-first mindset and a good instinct for what makes content work
- Enthusiasm, ideas and a willingness to get stuck in

No prior professional experience is required. We care more about creative instinct, enthusiasm and the work you can show us than a long CV.

AVAILABILITYThe role is flexible day-to-day, with the following monthly commitment:

October: 36 hours

November: 56 hours

December: 56 hours

January: 28 hours

We’d ideally love you to be available for shoot days on 23 and 24 October.
