JOB TITLE: Kitchenhand

JOB TYPE: Full time

LOCATION: Goldfields Hotel Motel, Tennant Creek NT

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

· Clean kitchen work areas, utensils, crockery, glassware and commercial cooking equipment.

· Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment and return clean items to appropriate storage areas.

· Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting and portioning ingredients as directed.

· Receive and store food and kitchen supplies and assist with stock rotation and maintaining orderly storage areas.

· Remove kitchen waste and maintain bins and waste areas in a clean and hygienic condition.

· Maintain floors, benches and food-preparation areas in accordance with food-safety and cleaning procedures.

· Assist with moving supplies and replenishing kitchen workstations before and during pub meal service.

· Follow workplace health and safety,



manual-handling and food-hygiene procedures.

· Report equipment faults, hazards, pest issues or stock problems to senior kitchen staff.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications: No formal qualification required. Food-safety handler training (SITXFSA005) is desirable and must be completed within the first month of employment if not already held.

Experience: Previous kitchenhand, food-service or commercial cleaning experience is desirable.

Skills:

· Kitchen cleaning and sanitation

· Basic food preparation

· Safe use of cleaning products and equipment

· Ability to work quickly during meal service

· Teamwork and reliability

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
