Common Vice is seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our team in New Farm.

This is a 24–30 hour per week position, with the potential for more hours over time, suited to someone who wants more than just a job. We are building a structured kitchen environment focused on standards, discipline, and development — and we actively promote from within. For the right candidate, there is a genuine pathway to move up the ranks.

The Role

You will be an essential part of the kitchen operation, supporting chefs and maintaining high standards across back-of-house areas.

Key Responsibilities

- Dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment
- Ensuring all back-of-house areas meet hygiene and food safety standards
- Assisting chefs with basic preparation and mise en place
- Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
- Supporting the team during busy service periods
- Following WHS and food safety procedures

Growth & Development Pathway This is a structured entry-level position with progression opportunities. High-performing candidates will receive:





- Basic prep training
- Knife skills development
- Section exposure during service
- Mentoring from senior chefs
- A clear pathway toward Commis Chef or apprenticeship

What We're Looking For

- Full Australian working rights
- Availability for 24–30 hours per week (including evenings and weekends), with capacity to pick up more hours
- Reliable and punctual

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential for the right candidate
