Our client is an independent digital agency that makes digital simple. For 17 years, they have been building high-performing websites, eCommerce platforms, mobile applications and complex integrations for leading organisations.

We're looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the development function and join our leadership team.

n

You'll lead a team of 12 across development, mobile, QA and support, reporting directly to the Directors. You'll own the technical function — the people, processes, engineering standards and the quality of everything built.

What you’ll do n

- n

Lead, mentor and develop the development team, including hiring and performance management.

n
- n

Own resource planning and allocation across multiple projects.

n
- n

Set and enforce the engineering standards and development lifecycle.

n
- n

Oversee technical quality, security, testing, accessibility and deployment practices.

n
- n

Work with the Principal Engineer to evolve the approach to AI-assisted and spec-driven development.

n
- n

Provide technical leadership on projects, including scoping, estimating,



workshops and client presentations.

n
- n

Be the escalation point for technical, deployment and production issues.

n
- n

Help shape the future technology strategy of the agency.

n

What we’re looking for n

You’ll be an experienced technology leader with:

n

n
- n

Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams.

n
- n

Strong C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core and Azure experience.

n
- n

Experience delivering enterprise-scale .NET CMS/DXP projects.

n
- n

A solid understanding of modern engineering practices, CI/CD, testing and security.

n
- n

Experience owning development processes and technical delivery in an agency or similar environment.

n
- n

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and senior stakeholders.

n
- n

The judgement to balance technical quality with real-world delivery pressures.

n

n

Microsoft certification such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert is expected within your first year.

n

Experience with Kentico, Umbraco, AI-assisted development, search, identity, accessibility or infrastructure as code would be a bonus.
