About the role

12-month contract is available for a Graduate or Junior Biochemist to join a specialised production and purification laboratory.

Working from established protocols, you will assist with the synthesis, purification and characterisation of deuterium-labelled molecules. This role would suit a recent graduate looking to build practical laboratory experience while working with advanced analytical instruments.

Duties

- Synthesise deuterium-labelled molecules using established methods
- Purify and characterise molecules using laboratory techniques
- Operate chromatography, MS, NMR and IR systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot assigned laboratory instruments
- Support laboratory operations, documentation,



safety and quality

Skills/experience

- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; Honours is highly regarded
- Practical laboratory experience from university, research or industry
- Exposure to chromatography, MS, NMR, IR or protein purification
- Microbial culture, fermentation or molecular biology experience is desirable
- Australian citizenship is essential for site security requirements
