Blossoming Support Service provides person-centred care and support services designed to help clients remain safe, comfortable and independent.

We are seeking a qualified Personal Care Assistant to provide consistent and respectful personal care to clients in accordance with their individual care plans and assessed needs.

n

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

n

Assisting clients with showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene and toileting;

n

Providing continence care and maintaining clients’ comfort, privacy and dignity;

n

Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, repositioning and pressure-care procedures;

n

Supporting clients with eating, drinking and meal-related assistance;

n

Monitoring clients during personal care and promptly reporting changes in their health, skin condition, mobility, appetite, behaviour or general wellbeing;

n

Assisting with medication in accordance with company policies, care plans and the employee’s authorised level of training;

n

Implementing individual care plans and following instructions provided by supervisors and relevant healthcare professionals;

n

Supporting clients with prescribed exercises and daily living routines within the employee’s training and authority;

n

Using hoists, transfer equipment and other mobility aids safely;

n

Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic care environment;

n

Applying infection-control and personal protective equipment procedures;

n

Completing progress notes, care records, incident reports and handover information accurately;

n

Providing emotional support and maintaining respectful relationships with clients and their families;

n

Protecting client confidentiality and complying with privacy and safeguarding requirements; and

n

Participating in care reviews, staff meetings,



training and workplace health and safety activities.

Qualifications and experience n

Applicants should have:

n

n
- n

Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing, Disability, Health Services Assistance or an equivalent qualification;

n
- n

At least one year of relevant personal care experience;

n
- n

Demonstrated experience assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, transfers and activities of daily living;

n
- n

Current First Aid and CPR certificates;

n
- n

Current National Police Check;

n
- n

NDIS Worker Screening Check where required;

n
- n

Knowledge of infection control, manual handling, privacy and duty-of-care requirements;

n
- n

Solid observational, communication and written documentation skills;

n
- n

A compassionate, respectful and client-focused approach;

n
- n

The physical capacity to safely perform the inherent duties of the role; and

n
- n

A valid Australian driver licence where travel between client locations is required.

n

n

Availability to work according to client needs, including rotating morning, afternoon or weekend shifts, may be required.
