$94,419.72 gross per annum, plus super.

About our Therapeutic Community Program:

The Therapeutic Community (TC) is a long-term residential program that works with residents to establish healthier relationships, promote personal change, and support them in their recovery journey. An essential element of the TC is the individual clients’ relationship to the peer community.

Using a therapeutic community model, the program offers a holistic treatment experience for those seeking help for problematic drug or alcohol use. To enhance individual motivation for change, the Therapeutic Community combines meaningful work and recreational activities, with therapeutic group work and skills development, in a physically and psychologically safe setting. An essential element of the model is the individual residents’ relationship to the peer community.

Role Purpose:

The key purpose of the position is to ensure residents obtain and maintain all necessary personal identification and documentation required to access community-based supports and services.

The Resident Support Co-ordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting applications for essential documents such as birth certificates, proof of identity, Medicare cards, Centrelink documentation, and Working with Children Checks. By ensuring residents have the appropriate documentation, the position enables greater access to services, community participation, employment, education, and other support opportunities.

Key areas of focus:





- Establish relationship with resident through an introductory interview and discussion.
- Establish what personal identification a resident holds and what are their further requirements.
- Ensure resident has a functional and secure email account and mobile phone
- Process documentation to apply for resident personal identification, including but not limited to birth certificate, proof of age card, medicare card.
- Apply for Working with Children Check (WWCC) via Services Victoria, ensure all criteria of Victoria legislation is followed
- Escalate child safety concerns, adverse notifications or compliance issues in accordance with Odyssey Victoria policy and procedures.
- Where an WWCC application is unsuccessful, provide practical support to help residents understand the outcome, review available options and access appropriate advocacy, legal advice or review processes where applicable.
- Ensure resident has secure bank account with secure access and educate resident in online banking.
- Support Resident with the establishment appropriate online services including a myGov account and linking Centrelink, Medicare, Housing and ATO.
- Keep abreast of changes in protocols and procedures within Centrelink and other agencies.
- Maintain relevant tracking tools and systems to respond to requests for reports as relevant.
- Provide administrative and finance support to Business Team where required, including operational and job function support with residents within Business Office
- Maintain administrative, filing and record keeping systems, including the maintenance of client files, and filing systems, for the effective operations of the administrative services/functions.

Key Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Government Agency Process particularly Services Victoria, Centrelink and myGov, record keeping methods, administrative procedures, confidentiality, and privacy protocols.
2. Strong organisation and time management skills.
3. Highly developed communication skills (both verbal and written) with a consultative approach to resolving issues.
4. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork,



with an openness to giving and receiving feedback.
5. Ability to take initiative and work independently and adaptively to meet changing organisational needs.
6. Ability to convey warmth, openness, empathy, and concern for the welfare of colleagues and residents.
7. Confident, friendly, and well-developed people skills, including the ability to relate to professionals and to deal with challenging people and situations.
8. Well-developed information technology skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and use of databases.
