The opportunity

An experienced Master Scheduler is required to support the In Plain Sight ICT Program, a significant Queensland Government initiative delivering the technology capability behind the establishment of the Queensland Protection Commission, a new BU within Department of Justice.

This nation-leading reform brings together Blue Card Services, disability worker screening, the Reportable Conduct Scheme and Child Safe Standards. The ICT Program will establish the Commission’s technology capability and subsequently deliver a centralised child safeguarding intelligence hub and new case management platform.

Reporting to the Senior ICT Program Manager, you will provide specialist scheduling expertise across multiple interdependent projects. You will work closely with project and program managers to monitor delivery progress, manage dependencies, identify emerging risks and support the achievement of critical program milestones.

The program

The Queensland Protection Commission is being established in response to the In Plain Sight report into system responses to child sexual abuse.

The ICT Program will establish the Commission’s technology capability by February 2027, followed by the delivery of a centralised child safeguarding intelligence hub and a new case management system by February 2028. Funding has been allocated and delivery is underway.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a complex and meaningful reform program where high-quality scheduling will be central to successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement the program’s schedule management plan, including schedule quality standards and maintenance processes.
- Work with Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed project and program schedules.
- Identify key milestones,



critical paths, dependencies and resource requirements.
- Integrate and coordinate multiple project schedules across the broader ICT Program.
- Liaise with program and project managers, business analysts, technical specialists, vendors and external government agencies.
- Evaluate schedule progress and performance and identify emerging risks, issues or delivery concerns.
- Escalate material schedule impacts and provide clear reporting to program leadership.
- Develop and maintain project and program dependency registers.
- Support strong scheduling governance and reporting disciplines.
- Pragmatically align schedules with the DCMA 14-point schedule assessment.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Extensive experience developing and maintaining complex project and program schedules.
- Advanced capability using Microsoft Project Professional.
- Experience managing integrated schedules across multiple concurrent ICT projects.
- Strong knowledge of critical path analysis, milestones, dependencies, resource planning and schedule controls.
- Proven experience delivering schedules within strong governance environments.
- Experience working within PRINCE2, Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies in a large and complex organisation.
- The ability to analyse schedule data, identify developing risks and clearly communicate potential impacts.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work across delivery teams, vendors, executives and external agencies.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Project management qualifications or certifications such as PMP, PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile or Protected will be highly regarded.
