About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, working Thursdays and Fridays.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dental Assistant who enjoys working in a specialist environment and is looking to take on greater responsibility within a highly skilled clinical team.

You will work closely with our Periodontists and Oral Health Therapists, assisting with a range of surgical and non-surgical periodontal procedures while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will also play an important role in supporting junior team members, maintaining high clinical standards and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality chairside assistance for surgical and non-surgical periodontal procedures

- Assist with surgical procedures, including IV sedation where required

- Maintain high standards of infection control, sterilisation and clinical room preparation

- Perform laboratory duties, including intra-oral scanning and preparation of laboratory work

- Provide patients with professional reassurance,



support and post-operative instructions

- Assist with reception and administrative duties when required

- Ensure clinical areas are efficiently prepared and maintained throughout the day

- Support an efficient and seamless patient journey

- Assist with the training, mentoring and development of junior Dental Assistants

- Contribute to a positive, professional and collaborative team culture

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in dental assisting, ideally within a surgical or specialist environment

- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (preferred)

- Confident with infection control and sterilisation procedures

- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

- Calm, capable and adaptable in a busy clinical environment

- Proactive and able to work independently while being a solid team player

- Professional, reliable and punctual

- Confident communicating with both patients and clinical team members

- Passionate about delivering a high standard of patient care

- Willing to support and mentor junior team members

Previous experience in surgical assisting and IV sedation will be highly regarded.
