Rankin Ellison Lawyers is looking for a Senior Practice Manager to lead how our firm runs, firm-wide, across our Sydney and Newcastle offices. Reporting directly to the COO, you will have real authority over the people who deliver our legal and administrative work, and the processes they work within. What You'll Do

- Oversees administrative and support staff firm-wide
- Allocates resources and manages workload distribution across support staff.
- Coordinates day-to-day people matters, coverage and escalation across both offices, and is the first point of contact for staff-level people issues.
- Design, document and implement standard operating procedures firm-wide.
- Monitors firm-wide compliance and specifically performance to contracted SLA KPIs
- Standardise workflows across Sydney and Newcastle so that process, not location, decides how work gets done.
- Run our quarterly matter audit and drive measurable efficiency improvements across the practice.





What You'll Bring & Who Are You You are a collaborative leader who can partner with the Executive team and Partners to align operational strategy with firm priorities and ensure the firm's operational functions deliver a consistently high standard. You bring commercial and strategic awareness, the drive to build a positive, high-performing operational culture, and the initiative to stay ahead of developments in legal operations and technology.

- Substantial practice management or legal operations experience in a law firm or qualified services environment.
- A track record of managing support teams across more than one office or location.
- Real experience designing processes and SOPs, with results you can point to.
- Insurance or fixed-fee practice experience is a strong advantage.
- Regular, frequent travel between Sydney and Newcastle is a mandatory requirement of this role.
