The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (SA Branch) (ANMFSA) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Librarian to join our team and help shape, grow and contribute to the workforce of the future by delivering quality support to Australian Nursing Midwifery Education Centre (ANMEC) students, and staff and members of the ANMFSA

About the Role:

As the Librarian, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing library services for ANMEC students, ANMFSA staff and members. You will oversee the effective administration of both digital and physical library collections, ensuring resources are accessible, current, and aligned with copyright requirements. The role is responsible for maintaining online access to journals, databases, and other electronic resources, as well as coordinating cataloguing, acquisitions, and stock management activities.

Working closely with ANMEC’sStudent Learning & Support Coordinator, you will provide tailored support to students, connecting them with appropriate learning resources and assisting with their academic and personal development needs. As a valued member of the team, you will undertake your role in a manner that promotes ANMEC as both a leading training organisation and the professional and industrial voice for nurses, midwives, and care workers across South Australia.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain and manage the library catalogue, ensuring access to print and digital resources.
- Develop and maintain the library collection, including resource selection, acquisition and cataloguing.
- Source and evaluate electronic resources to meet user needs.
- Research, analyse and provide information and resources for students, staff and ANMF (SA Branch) members.
- Deliver professional literature search services to support workplace practice and study.
- Ensure library operations comply with copyright legislation and licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for copyright licensing, reporting and audit purposes.

About You: We are seeking an approachable and enthusiastic individual who:

- Holds a Certificate IV or Diploma Library and Information studies.
- Has experience working in a library preferably in an education environment in a similar role.
- Demonstrates a proven ability to communicate with a range of diverse people across the student body and union members
- Has experience in research, reference, and technical services, particularly with automated systems.




- Skills in a specialised library environment including knowledge and ability to manage a diverse range of information technology applicable to a library environment.
- A sound knowledge/skills/experience working with people who have English as an additional language.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills including high quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to promote the ANMFSA through their conduct and delivery of the library service in a manner that will contribute to recruitment and retention of members.
- Have sound problem solving, time management and negotiation/advocacy skills.
- Hold a current DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) or have the ability to obtain one.

The Administration Officer position is offered as a ASO3 classification range, in accordance with the ANMF (SA Branch) Employees Agreement. This position is based on 30 hours per week, worked across four (4) days. We offer flexibility in start and finish times, supporting a healthy work-life balance for the right candidate.
