Senior Manager, Property and Commercial Leasing

- Lead the strategic management of one of WA’s largest university property portfolios.
- Drive commercial outcomes, leasing strategy, acquisitions and portfolio.
- Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis.
- Base salary range: $159,292 – $165,497 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

Campus Management is responsible for planning, developing, managing and operating the University of Western Australia’s physical estate and infrastructure. The portfolio delivers integrated property, facilities, asset management, capital works and operational services that enable world-class teaching, research and campus life.

Within Campus Management, the Operations function brings together commercial portfolios and operational service delivery to strengthen financial sustainability, service excellence and customer-focused outcomes. This role plays a critical part in the ongoing evolution of the University’s operating model, ensuring the effective stewardship and performance of a significant commercial and residential property portfolio across metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia.

About the opportunity

- Lead the strategic management, performance and optimisation and risk management of UWA’s commercial and residential property portfolio, comprising more than 200 leased and managed properties across Western Australia.
- Provide expert leadership in leasing, property acquisitions, due diligence, commercial negotiations, portfolio strategy, risk management and governance to maximise commercial outcomes and support University objectives.
- Deliver high-level advice, business cases and strategic recommendations to senior leaders while leading a specialist team, managing key stakeholder relationships across government, industry, tenants and service providers,



and overseeing significant commercial and financial outcomes across the portfolio.

About you

- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Property, Business, Commerce, Law, Real Estate, Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive experience leading and managing commercial and property portfolios, including commercial and residential leasing, acquisitions, portfolio optimisation, due diligence and property-related commercial arrangements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational advice to senior leaders, including the development of business cases, policy recommendations and governance papers, supported by strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential property management, leasing practices, property markets and contemporary estate management principles, with demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder management capability.
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement, contract management, probity, governance and regulatory compliance frameworks, preferably within a large and complex organisation.
