Machine Operator / Production Worker – Precast Concrete

Stonekast is an Australian manufacturer of high-quality architectural concrete products. Due to a solid production schedule and anticipated ongoing demand, we are looking for a reliable Machine Operator/Production Worker to join our team in Carrum Downs.
This is initially a casual position, with aprox 30 hours per week or more expected through to our Christmas shutdown. Based on our forward workload, we anticipate ongoing work in the new year, with the potential for a permanent full-time position for the right person.
Hours are generally 7am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 1pm Fridays with Saturday work as needed.
The role
You will work across different areas of our production facility, which may include:
Operating production and cutting machinery
Batching and preparing concrete mixes
Setting up moulds and assisting with production
Cutting and finishing concrete products
Carrying out quality checks
Moving materials and finished products
Forklift operation
General factory duties and housekeeping
This is a hands-on manufacturing role. Some tasks involve reasonably heavy lifting, and the work can be wet, dusty or dirty.

Is reliable, punctual and willing to work
Is comfortable in a practical,
physical factory environment
Can follow instructions and work safely
Takes pride in producing good-quality work
Is willing to learn and assist in different production areas
Can work effectively as part of a small team
Holds a current forklift licence
Lives within a 45 minute commute distance to Carrum Downs
Applicants with solid forklift operating experience who do not currently hold a licence may also be considered, provided they are willing to obtain their forklift licence within an agreed timeframe.
Previous machine-operation, manufacturing, concrete or construction experience would be highly regarded, but training can be provided to the right person.
Hours and employment
Casual position
More than 30 hours per week expected until the Christmas shutdown
Primarily weekday work at our Carrum Downs factory
Ongoing work is anticipated in the new year
Potential to move into permanent full-time employment for the right person as our confirmed production schedule continues to develop
