About the role

Robin Hood Hotel is seeking a Maintenance / Handyperson to join our team on a casual basis approximately 20- 25 hrs per week. This role is based in Norwood, SA 5067 and is fundamental to maintaining the quality and safety standards of our hotel facilities. As a Maintenance / Handyperson, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our premises, ensuring that all areas of the hotel remain in excellent working order.

This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute directly to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests.

What you'll be doing

- Performing routine maintenance tasks including repairs, replacements, and installations throughout the hotel
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests
- Inspecting facilities and equipment regularly to identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Conducting preventative maintenance on building systems, fixtures, and fittings
- Carrying out minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs as required
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs completed
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and tidy, with proper disposal of materials and waste
- Liaising with external contractors when specialist work is needed
- Following health and safety protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents
- Supporting the broader hotel team to maintain high standards of presentation and functionality
- Garden maintenance
- Receiving of goods/supplies & implementation of appropriate stock and stock control

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in maintenance, handyperson work, or a similar role within the hospitality or facilities management sector
- Competency in basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and general repairs
- Sound knowledge of building maintenance systems and common maintenance issues




- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with hotel staff
- Flexibility and reliability, with a willingness to respond to maintenance needs as they arise
- Current Driver's Licence is desirable for running errands and sourcing materials
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in trades (such as plumbing or electrical work) would be advantageous but not essential
