Brief Description

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep.
- Perform or coordinate repairs and routine maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment and systems function efficiently and safely.
- Monitor and action all Maintenance works to ensure regulatory compliance across the designated area of responsibility.
- Undertake and oversee Preventative Maintenance relating to buildings, property and assets in accordance with the Planned Preventative Maintenance Calendar
- Conduct regular checks and maintenance on critical systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including infection control protocols specific to aged care.
- To Comply with and contribute to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance services.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and service reports.
- Providing gardening maintenance tasks (sweeping, hosing, keeping the outside of buildings clean and tidy, mowing lawns, hedging and general garden maintenance)

Requirements

- Current driver's license
- Trade qualification (highly preferred but not required)
- Computer skills - Ability to use portable devices, including but not limited to Phone, tablets, laptops at an intermediate level
- Ability to work under minimum supervision




- Experience as a Maintenance Person in Retirement Living (preferred)
- Previous experience in either building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber (desirable)
- Physically capable to undertake the maintenance work which can involve mowing, pruning, use of battery-operated garden maintenance tools, use of ladders and some moderate to heavy lifting
- Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting

Requirements

- 1.0 FTE (Full time Equivalent) equals 38 hours per week or 76 hours per fortnight. If the role requires fewer hours, please enter the proportional FTE (e.g., 0.5 FTE = 19 hours per week).
