Maintenance & Property Specialist | Residential Aged Care | Part-Time

Are you experienced in maintaining a residential aged care workplace?

This is an opportunity for a hands-on Maintenance officerto take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance, presentation and upkeep of a residential aged care home in Canberra ACT.

We're looking for someone who understands that maintenance in aged care is about more than fixing things. You'll help ensure the home, grounds, equipment and facilities are safe, functional, compliant and well presented for residents, families and staff.

You'll have variety across preventative and reactive maintenance, general repairs, gardening and property upkeep, while working with an established not-for-profit aged care provider.

About the role

- Up to $35 per hour + Super + NFP benefits
- Part-time position across 3 days in the week
- Based in inner-north Canberra ACT
- Maintain an established residential aged care home and surrounding grounds
- Complete planned preventative maintenance across buildings, property, plant and equipment
- Undertake general repairs across basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building
- Complete gardening and grounds maintenance including mowing, hedging, sweeping and general upkeep

This role will suit someone who has previously worked in maintenance within residential aged care,



retirement living or a similar care environment and understands the specific requirements of maintaining an occupied care setting.

You will ideally have

- Previous Maintenance Officer/Handyperson experience within residential aged care
- A trade qualification, with candidates from building, plumbing, fitter and turner or welding backgrounds encouraged to apply
- Experience managing both preventative and reactive maintenance
- Current driver's licence — driving is essential for the role

Retirement living maintenance experience will also be considered, particularly where you have experience managing property and grounds in an occupied residential environment. What you'll get As part of a purpose-led not-for-profit organisation, you'll have access to:
