We are currently seeking a compassionate, highly patient and engaging Disability Support Worker to support a male NDIS participant in the community and home environment.

About the Participant

- He is a wheelchair user and requires physical assistance with mobility, transfers, personal care, feeding, and daily living activities.
- Is non-verbal and requires support workers who are patient, attentive, and able to understand and respond to his individual communication methods and cues.
- Values being treated with dignity, respect, and being actively included in decisions affecting his daily life.
- Enjoys social interaction, community participation, family connection, and the use of social media.
- Comes from an Arabic-speaking family. Support workers must be able to communicate effectively with family members (fluency in Arabic is therefore required)
- Requires support workers who are mature, reliable, emotionally resilient, and experienced in supporting people with complex behavioural support needs.
- Benefits from support workers who can remain calm during periods of behavioural escalation, follow behaviour support strategies, and maintain a consistent, person-centred approach.
- Prefers support workers who are friendly, engaging, and able to build a trusting professional relationship over time.
- Requires support with personal care, meal assistance, community access, social participation, and achieving individual goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care & self-care assistance

Essential Requirements
- Fluency in Arabic
- ABN
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Working rights in Australia
- Experience supporting people with disability
- Competent in manual handling
- Competent in driving an accessible van

Shift Information: Shifts are 12pm - 8pm. We are seeking to add current workers to his existing team of incredible support workers.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
