About the role

We are looking to hire a highly motivated Management Accountant who enjoys working closely with the people who build things. Reporting to the Financial Controller – Construction & Development, you will support the delivery of the Group's financial, taxation and compliance requirements, and act as a trusted finance partner to project managers, engineers and development managers.

You will work with the CFO, Deputy CFO, Director of Operations – Construction, General Manager of Developments, and the wider Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

- Run month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments and project WIP reviews

- Review and finalise monthly financial results and forecasts

- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations

- Review project forecasts, track monthly variances and assess the adequacy of cost forecasts and project controls

- Prepare and lodge the Group's BAS and payroll tax

- Review and approve weekly construction workers' payroll (under EBA), and issue weekly wage cost reports and forecasts

- Review and authorise commission expenses,



rental guarantee expenses and settlement statements

- Assist with income tax workpapers, FBT, PTRS, TPAR, ACIRT, portable LSL, ABS surveys and other statutory requirements

- Liaise with the ATO, auditors and regulators, and support the annual external audit

- Support the Finance team with ad hoc projects

Skills Required

- Degree in Accounting or Finance

- CA/CPA qualified or working towards it

- Finance background in a corporate environment, with project accounting experience

- Construction or property industry experience is highly regarded

- Strong Excel skills, with a knack for data analysis and forecasting

- Confident improving systems and processes, not just running them

- Clear communicator who can explain the numbers to non-finance people

- Organised, self-driven and comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Experience with MS Dynamics 365, Salesforce or Power BI would be a bonus, but isn't essential.
