Position Summary

We're growing our Finance team and looking for a Management Accountant to take ownership of reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis as Wingman continues to scale. Reporting to the recently appointed Head of Finance you'll form part of the analytical engine behind how we plan, measure and improve performance, turning numbers into insights that guide real decisions across the business.

You'll partner closely with the Head of Finance on the monthly board pack, budgets, rolling forecasts, and margin and pricing analysis, while also strengthening the systems, automation and controls that support our growth. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane.

How you'll create impact

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

- Own the full month-end close process (journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations)
- In conjunction with the Head of Finance, prepare the monthly executive and board reporting pack, including P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow & KPI summary
- Produce variance analysis against budget and prior month, with clear, decision-ready commentary
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts in Xero

Budgeting & Forecasting





- Lead the annual budget and rolling forecast cycle, working with department heads to validate assumptions
- Build and maintain financial models reflecting Wingman's key drivers
- Run scenario modelling to support strategic planning, pricing and investment decisions

Margin & Cost Analysis

- Own cost and margin analysis, blending revenue and cost data to understand profitability by client, RP and vertical
- Support pricing reviews, price increase modelling, and vendor and contract reviews from a finance lens

Compliance, Tax & Audit

- Prepare BAS, GST and tax workpapers; liaise with external advisers on compliance obligations
- Ensure revenue recognition (including setup fees under AASB 15) and all financial reporting comply with applicable accounting standards
- Maintain and continuously improve internal controls

Systems, Automation & Process

- Administer and improve Xero and connected finance tools, including the billing system and expense management
- Drive automation across the finance team, if we're doing something repetitively inefficient, you should be building a smarter way to do it (Excel, Claude or BI tools)
- Partner with the broader team on system migrations and recent financial infrastructure as the business scales

Business Partnering

- Act as a trusted finance partner to the executive team and department heads, translating numbers into business insight, not just reports




- Provide analysis to support commercial decisions including pricing, headcount, client profitability and growth initiatives
- Present financial performance to senior leadership and the board with clarity and precision

What we need from you

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
- 5 years of experience in a management accounting or financial reporting role

Technical Skills

- Deep command of month-end close, management reporting and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in cloud accounting platforms, Xero strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling skills; experience with Modano or similar is a genuine advantage

Nice to Have

- Experience in a professional services, outsourcing, staffing or financial services business
- Exposure to offshore workforce costing, multi-currency or international payroll
- Experience building automated reporting packs or migrating manual processes into systems
- Working knowledge of Australian tax obligations: GST, BAS, payroll tax, FBT
