Management Consultant – Banking and Financial Services Industry

Location: Sydney, NSW (hybrid, including work at client sites). The role is based in Sydney but involves a mix of client site work and remote work, and potentially some interstate and international travel depending on client needs.

The role

We are seeking a Management Consultant to work with banking and financial services clients on business and technology transformation. You will assess how organisations currently operate, identify opportunities to improve their processes and capabilities, and provide practical recommendations that clients can implement.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Analysing client objectives, operating processes, organisational capabilities and existing systems to identify problems and improvement opportunities.
- Consulting with stakeholders through interviews and workshops to understand current practices and define future requirements.
- Developing options, recommendations and implementation plans to improve efficiency, service delivery and business outcomes.
- Preparing business cases, reports,



presentations, process maps and other transparent advice for client leaders.
- Advising on governance, risk, change and delivery approaches for transformation initiatives.
- Supporting clients as they implement agreed changes and assess whether the intended outcomes are being achieved.
- Working with Liberty colleagues who provide specialist architecture, assurance, testing and delivery expertise where a client engagement requires it.

What you will bring

- Demonstrated experience in management consulting, business improvement or transformation advisory, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex findings into practical recommendations.
- Experience assessing business processes, operating models, organisational capabilities or change initiatives.
- The ability to facilitate workshops, engage senior stakeholders and produce clear written reports and presentations.
- An understanding of governance, risk and regulatory considerations in financial services.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience. Postgraduate qualifications and certifications are welcome but are not essential.
