About Us An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial analyst to join the Commercial Evaluation and Advisory team within Corporate Finance, Department of Customer Service. This role plays a critical leadership position in managing and enhancing the Department's commercial evaluation and activity-based costing framework. You will lead the development and application of cost recovery models that support whole-of-government platforms and services, providing critical insights to inform investment decisions, funding strategies, business cases, and customer pricing outcomes.

As a trusted finance partner, you will work closely with senior executives, business leaders and key stakeholders across the Cluster to deliver robust financial analysis, strategic advice and innovative pricing solutions that support organisational objectives and customer outcomes.

In this role you will:

- Lead the design, development and maintenance of complex commercial pricing and activity-based costing models across the Cluster.
- Manage financial modelling, scenario analysis and evaluation of funding proposals, business cases and Treasury submissions to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with senior business leaders and Finance teams to provide commercial advice and recommendations on pricing, contract, cost allocation and service delivery models.
- Develop and maintain meaningful financial insights, reporting and dashboards to drive performance monitoring and support customer-focused outcomes.




- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies and controls to ensure compliance and integrity of pricing methodologies and financial information.
- Influence and educate stakeholders across the organisation on commercial pricing principles, costing methodologies and financial decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and enhanced commercial outcomes across the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

- Extensive experience in commercial pricing, activity-based costing, financial analysis and financial modelling.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical and actionable recommendations.
- Advanced Excel modelling skills, including scenario analysis, business case development and funding evaluations.
- Experience influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders across diverse business functions to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and balance competing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, controls and processes that improve financial decision-making and compliance.
- A collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on customer outcomes, continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
