The Karratha & Districts Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KDCCI) is looking for an energetic, commercially minded and people-focused CEO to lead our next chapter.

This is not a desk-bound CEO role.

One day you might be working with a local business owner to navigate a challenge, the next meeting with a Minister, major industry partner or government agency. You could be speaking at an event, developing a current partnership, working with the Board on strategy, or supporting the team to turn a new idea into something that delivers real value for our members.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Board, you will lead the strategic and operational performance of KDCCI while being one of the organisation's key external representatives.

You will:

Lead and develop a capable, high-performing team.

Build strong relationships across business, industry, government and community.

Represent and advocate for the needs of the local business community.

Identify opportunities, partnerships and initiatives that deliver value to members.

Maintain KDCCI's strong financial position, governance and organisational sustainability.





Work closely with the Board to deliver the strategic direction of the organisation.

Represent KDCCI at meetings, events, forums and in the media.

Keep asking “what's next?” and look for practical ways KDCCI can continue to grow its impact.

About you

We're looking for someone with energy, judgement and commercial acumen who genuinely enjoys working with people.

You'll be equally comfortable talking with a small business owner, leading your team, presenting to a Board, negotiating with a corporate partner or sitting across the table from senior government representatives.

You'll bring senior leadership experience, strong financial and commercial capability and the confidence to represent an established organisation publicly.

You'll also need to be adaptable. Regional business moves quickly, priorities change and opportunities don't always arrive neatly scheduled in the calendar. You'll know when to think strategically, when to influence and when to simply roll up your sleeves and get something done.

Experience in advocacy, government relations, economic development, membership organisations or regional Australia would be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in transferable commercial and leadership experience.
